MORTAL KOMBAT REBIRTH
MORTAL KOMBAT REBIRTH
What the hell is it? It is definitely not a trailer for an upcoming movie but a pitch to Warner Bro's (who now own Mortal Kombat) by a man named Kevin Tancharoen, (yes he is the director of Fame) he planned the whole thing in 2 months and he shot it for 2 days only, amazing right? What happens next? Will we see a resident evil type of treatment for the world renowned classic MK? I know fanboys who act like they're professional movie critics or something will hate the short film because it clearly stayed away from ideas like magic, gods, special powers, another world. Its funny how these people react, like they are being paid to critic someone's work, if you don't like it then make your own MK adaptation and stay the hell out of this one because this is effing cool.
While watching the short vid expecting another dumbass spoof, i was immediately stuck because of MICHAEL JAI WHITE. He was the perfect spawn, that guy from undisputed, and now Jax. And i do hope Scott Adkins will play a part because these two have unfinished business (watch Undisputed 2 and you'll know what i mean)
I personally think that the idea of realism was great, its so simple and this is where the first 2 MK films failed, the 2 worlds just don't fit and its just plain boring but don't get me wrong, i loved the MK movies back then. Want another good news?
"Is there a plan in your brain for how to put “fatalities” into the movie?
Tancharoen: I would definitely have them.
Tancharoen: I would definitely have them.
OH YEAH!! ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!
Lets just hope that Sub-Zero wont be throwing ice cubes. I read the exclusive interview and Tancharoen claimed that he did this whole thing with $7500, imagine what he can do with a few more zeros. I'd pay good money to see this one and one thing's for sure, 7:53 minutes of this short film is way better than 2 hours of that shitty Dragon Ball Z remake.
I dare not miss it because I do not wish to have a lifetime of regret. So i'll watch it which will give them money ergo making them richer but i don't care. I get to see Liu Kang kick some ass again anyway.
